I am Jesus, the Son of God
Sent by My Father above
You didn’t ask Me to come here
But I came because of love
You were drowning in your darkness
You were lost without a way
So I stepped into your story
To rescue you that day
You know the wrong things you’ve done
The hurt you’ve carried so long
These things kept you far from the Father’s heart
But My love is stronger than your wrong
I was killed and buried,
But on the third day I rose
I took your sin and your punishment
So you could come back home
I didn’t come to condemn you
I came to set you free
Believe I am the Son of God
Come, lay your life on Me
Turn away from your old life
Be baptized and be made clean
Step into the water with all your guilt
Step out completely redeemed
Imagine waters of mercy
Washing over your soul
A new you, a pure you
Forever made whole
I was killed and buried,
But on the third day I rose
I took your sin and your punishment
So you could come back home
I didn’t come to condemn you
I came to set you free
Believe I am the Son of God
Come, lay your life on Me
After baptism comes your mission
Go and bring them all to Me
So they too can be washed clean
And live eternally
This won’t always be easy
But it will be worth it all
For I am the way, the truth, the life
Hear My Spirit call
I am Jesus, the Son of God
Follow Me… follow Me…
Be baptized, be made new
Walk forever with Me
